It was a cold November, Leo the owner had fired up the log burner and our guests were due to arrive at Allington Manor, where they would be greeted with a glass of luxury champagne.
This was my first parlour show, I was working alongside another magician, and it was a formal evening of magic and entertainment. It was very different from your average magic show. We were two diverse acts that would intwine to a joint finale; this show was a perfect ending to autumn as winter was fast approaching.
We performed three runs of the show at Allington Manor, the show contained a variety of magic including theft at an airport, a crazy mathematical equation, confetti love hearts, musical instruments, and odd matching socks!
Parlour is intimate compared to stage, in this case, our guests were not below a stage but level with us when performing and we did not use microphones, limited to 40 people per performance we had something truly unique.
Lots of laughter and a perfect ending to autumn along with an introduction to the festive season, this show ended shortly after the run at Allington Manor, who knows, it might be revisited one day.
